Netflix original Marco Polo series debuts its trailer

A new Marco Polo series exclusive to the streaming service shows off a glimpse of what's to come in its first trailer.

The upcoming original Netflix exclusive series 'Marco Polo' has now got an official first trailer, which was released today.

The 10 episode series will premiere on the streaming service on 12th December across all territories in which Netflix is available.

Marco Polo follows the aforementioned merchant throughout his earlier years in the court of Kublai Khan in China during the 13th century.

Lorenzo Richelmy takes on the role of the title character, with Benedict Wong (Prometheus) as Kublai Khan, Zhu Zhu (Cloud Atlas) as Marco's love interest Kokachin, and Joan Chen (Twin Peaks) as Empress Chabi.

Other cast members include Tom Wu as Hundred Eyes, Remy Hill as Prince Jingim, Olivia Cheng as Mei Lin, Claudia Kim as Byamba, and Chin Han as Jin Sidao. The series is created by John Fusco (The Forbidden Kingdom, Young Guns), and Harvey Weinstein joins him as a fellow executive producer.
