Marouane Fellaini comments on Danny Welbeck playing for Arsenal v Manchester United

Marouane Fellaini is looking forward to playing against Danny Welbeck on Saturday when Manchester United take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

Marouane Fellaini believes that it will be “strange” for Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck to play against Manchester United this weekend.

England international Welbeck was on the books of United from 2001 until this summer, when he moved to the Gunners on transfer deadline day for a reported fee of £16 million.

The 23-year-old was played largely out on the wide instead as a centre-forward during his time at United, which was one of the reasons why he could not score too many goals for the Red Devils.

Welbeck has not been banging in the goals left, right and centre since his move to Arsenal, but he has shown promising signs and looks more confident.

On Saturday, the striker will turn out for Arsenal against United at Old Trafford in the Premier League, and Fellaini has given his take on the matter.

“Danny played here for a long time and it will be strange for him but football is like this when you change teams,” the United midfielder told Inside United. “We wish him a lot of luck. These are the games you love to play in and we hope we can do well.”

Welbeck will head into the encounter against his former club United high on confidence, having scored twice for England in a Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia at London’s Wembley Stadium at the weekend.

In eight league appearances for Arsenal so far this season, Welbeck has scored two goals and has created 14 chances. He has a pass accuracy of 86% and a shot accuracy of 47%, and has won 46% of his duels.
