Italian giants reportedly preparing swap-deal for Leeds target

AC Milan

Josip Ilicic has been linked with a loan move to Leeds United, but now AC Milan are said to be interested.

Reported Leeds United target Josip Ilicic is now said to be a target for Italian club AC Milan.

The Fiorentina midfielder has recently been linked with a potential loan move to Elland Road after failing to hold down a regular starting spot for the Serie A side, but according to Calcio Mercato Milan have now entered the race for the player.

The 26-year-old Slovenia international has made 12 appearances for Fiorentina this season but until recently those were predominantly as a substitute.

Two goals and one assist in that time has not helped matters and recent reports claimed he had been booed by his own fans, potentially speeding up a possible departure.

Ilicic has considerable potential and would have been an interesting addition to Neil Redfearn’s side, but one wonders if the interest has been ended following the departure of the player’s countryman Darko Milanic.

But if Leeds’ interest remains they will not be pleased to read the latest claim that Milan are willing to offer Giampaolo Pazzini in any deal that brings Ilicic to the San Siro.
