Liverpool morning news, Balotelli expected to be fit for Crystal Palace trip

A selection of the latest stories involving Liverpool Football Club this Monday morning.

Mario Balotelli is expected to be fit for the trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday according to the Liverpool Echo, despite being sent home from international duty with a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old missed both of Italy's internationals but the Reds are confident he will be fit enough for their trip to Selhurst Park on Sunday - with Daniel Sturridge also returning from injury.

It would give manager Brendan Rodgers the opportunity to pair the strikers for only the second time this season after Sturridge has been out of action for the Reds since the end of August with calf and thigh injuries.

One Italian striker that is being linked with a move away from Merseyside [again] is Fabio Borini by the Daily Mirror, with Inter Milan said to be interested in the forward.

Borini has not been a first choice at Anfield this season, and has been used from the bench following a summer where the Reds tried to offload him to other Premier League clubs - with Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers both having bids accepted for him.

Now with former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini returning to Inter, Borini is reported to be on the club's wishlist for the January transfer window.

There were two Reds in international action last night in Brussels as Belgium were held to a 0-0 draw by Wales in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Divock Origi, the striker currently on loan at Lille, started up front for Belgium, whilst Joe Allen was at the heart of the Wales midfield, and was on the wrong end of a Marouane Fellaini elbow during the encounter.
