Evolution gives away DriveClub’s DLC for November free to all players

By way of compensation the DriveClub developers are giving a bundle of new content away free to those who’ve purchased the full game.

Following an ill fated launch, DriveClub developers Evolution Studios has decided to give away the game’s first planned premium DLC packs for free.

While the team at Evolution continue to iron out server-side issues with DriveClub the studio has announced, “We know you have all been extremely patient and understandably frustrated during DRIVECLUB’s launch, and to show our appreciation for the support during this challenging time, we will be offering the premium DLC packs for November (25th November-SCEA/26th November-SCEE/27th November-SCEJ) free to those who purchased the full game.”

The DLC packs in question are The Ignition Expansion Pack and Photo-Finish Tour Pack. Along with these two add-ons, two livery packs will also be given away. In total the gratis bundle will add five new cars, 22 new tour events, 10 new trophies and 10 new livery items to the game.

Four DriveClub players that purchased the game’s season pass. Evolution has also stated the will be an extension to the pass taking it up to July 2015 with four additional packs added to the bargain to ensure players get the same amount of add-on content as was initially promised.

Evolution also announced that DriveClub’s next game update will be coming on 18th November bringing the following tweaks:

  • Improved multiplayer collision physics to reduce frustrating spin-outs
  • Adjustments to soften the corner cutting penalty system
  • Options in the club menu to view everything your club has unlocked
  • A fix to allow all club owners to update their club badges

Photo Mode will also come with the update along with three new tracks: India – Yedepalli, Scotland – Wester Ross, and Chile – Los Pelambres.

Finally, Evolution noted that the free PS Plus edition of DriveClub is still on the studio’s agenda although no update as to its arrival has been provided.
