Tottenham Hotspur’s Michel Vorm on taking former Rangers player’s autograph and supporting Ajax

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signing Michel Vorm reveals which player’s autograph he first took and the first club he supported.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm has revealed the name of the first player whose autograph he took.

“I think it was probably Ronald Waterreus, who used to play for Manchester City,” he told Tottenham’s official website.

Waterreus is a former Netherlands international goalkeeper who was on the books of current Premier League champions City between 2004 and 2005.

The 44-year-old achieved success with Dutch giants PSV, and also played for the likes of Scottish giants Rangers and MLS outfit New York Red Bulls.

Vorm, who joined Tottenham from Swansea City in the summer transfer window, has also revealed that the first club he supported was Ajax.

“Ajax,” the 31-year-old said when asked about the first club he supported. “I remember around 1994 and 1995 they were amazing – probably one of the best teams in the world at that moment.”

Vorm has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season, but he has played once in the Europa League.
