Liverpool defender Javier Manquillo has revealed that Diego Costa and Filipe Luis told him of their happiness at West London outfit Chelsea.
Manquillo joined the Reds on a two-year loan deal, whereas Costa and Luis moved to the Blues for a reported combined fee of £47.8 million.
Spanish international striker Costa has taken to Premier League life with a bang, scoring 10 goals in nine starts as the Blues remain undefeated at the top of the table.
Brazilian full-back Luis, on the other hand, has been much less active as he struggles to win a regular first-team spot ahead of left-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
In spite of their contrasting situations, the former Atletico Madrid pair are delighted at Stamford Bridge as Manquillo reveals what the duo told him following last weekend’s encounter at Anfield.
“They told me they are happy, that the team has been playing very well and they have acclimatised well," the Liverpool full-back said in an interview with Spanish newspaper AS.
The Blues’ 2-1 victory at Anfield extended their unbeaten run and broke a club record 17-games unbeaten in all competitions from the start of the season.
A major part of Jose Mourinho’s side’s early-season success has been the balance in the team and the frightening relationship between Costa and fellow summer signing Cesc Fabregas.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder has started every game this season and has contributed with an outstanding nine assists – with Costa being the main beneficiary from a number of those.
