England under-19s defeated their Italian counterparts 3-0 in the week. However, it may as well been credited to Chelsea - as two of their best young players did the job.
Izzy Brown bagged a brace, including an excellent strike from a well worked corner. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, once compared to Brazilian legend Socrates bagged the other. The pair made a formidable partnership, RLC backing up the big man Brown up top and it further proves that Chelsea really do have some excellent talent on their hands.
After the game Brown had some glowing words to say about Loftus-Cheek, who made headlines in May after his massive wages at Chelsea were revealed, who looks like becoming a Chelsea first-teamer in the long-term future.
He told The FA's official website:
"I love playing with Ruben, he’s a great player and one of the best midfielders for his age in the country,” said Brown.
“He’s gives 100 per cent and he’s an outstanding player.
“We work really well together and we have a great understanding because we play together every week in the Under-21s at Chelsea – so we have a good partnership and to carry it on in an England shirt is very pleasing.”
The 18-year-old certainly looks like the real deal. However with the amount of talent available at Chelsea it will not be an easy task getting into the first-team as he gets older.
But the plan will certainly be for him to do just that.
