Swansea City full-back Neil Taylor says that Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is the best player in the Premier League by a mile.
The Welsh international is set to face the Blues’ 23-year-old wizard as Chris Coleman’s men take on Belgium in a Euro 2016 qualifier tody.
It’s a match-up that will bring back painful memories from just over two months ago as Taylor’s club side Swansea were tormented by Hazard in a 4-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
The former Lille man arrived in West London with huge promise, but the return of coach Jose Mourinho 16 months ago has seen his game develop tenfold.
Last season, after scoring seven goals and assisted a further 14 Hazard drew comparisons with Ballon d’Or rivals Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
While Hazard by his own admission has some way to go before reaching such elevated levels, Taylor says the Stamford Bridge favourite is without doubt the best player in the Premier League today.
“Hazard has developed under Jose Mourinho,” he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. “He’s the best player in the Premier League by a mile, I’d say. Mourinho has done that — he’s on a player if they don’t perform.
”Hazard is doing it week in, week out. He’s a ball carrier, he can take Chelsea from the edge of their box to the opposition area and go past you like a ghost. He can go outside or inside, shoot, or make you foul him.”
Hazard has started all 11 Premier League games for the Blues this season, scoring three goals and adding one assist in the process.
On the international stage, despite his young age Hazard has already reached 50 caps and is rightly viewed as the star player during a Golden generation for Belgium.
