Arsenal-linked Tony Jantschke says that he would only answer to Real Madrid.

Arsenal-linked Tony Jantschke has responded to recent transfer speculation by stating he would only be interested in leaving Borussia Monchengladbach for La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old defender has attracted a number of top European clubs in recent months following a terrific start to the season in the Bundesliga.

The Gunners are among the interested party and their current defender situation is on the verge of a crisis as a result of a number of injuries to first team players.

Added strength at the back is a must for the North Londoners, and their recent defensive woes on the pitch could prompt boss Arsene Wenger to make a move for the £4.5million-rated star in January.

However, when asked to comment on the recent speculation surrounding his future, Jantschke stated that he has no intentions of leaving Monchengladbach unless a call came from the Santiago Bernabeu.

“I don’t know anything about AC Milan and I am firmly conscious that I signed a deal with Monchengladbach until 2018. I have always said that I only have a weakness for one club therefore I would only respond to a call from Real Madrid,” he is quoted as saying by Tuttomercato.

Jantschke has started 10 Bundesliga games so far this season, averaging two tackles per game and an impressive 6.5 effective clearances.

He has represented Germany at all ages and is largely expected to be included in Joachim Loew’s first-team squad in the near future.
