Arsenal have lots of young talent coming through and here are three players who deserve a shot next year.
Arsenal have a number of young players either out on loan or currently plying their trade for the Gunners’ Academy and under-21 sides. Some are still a long way from being ready for first-team action, but others could be causing Arsene Wenger to think long and hard about his options in the months ahead.
With 2015 fast approaching, we take a look at three young Arsenal players who should be given a chance either in the second half of this season or at the beginning of the following campaign.
Dan Crowley
Dan Crowley is a 17-year-old midfielder who is enjoying a fine season both for the under-21s and in the UEFA Youth League.
The former Aston Villa player has scored five goals and provided four assists in four European matches this season and he has netted a further three in eight games for Arsenal in the under-21 Premier League.
He may be young but he is supremely talented and it must only be a matter of time before Wenger gives him a taste of first-team action.
Benik Afobe
Benik Afobe has really shot to prominence this season during a loan spell at MK Dons. The 21-year-old has 15 goals in 20 appearances, including two against Manchester United in the Capital One Cup and six in total in that competition.
After a string of loan spells this could be the season that Afobe forces his way into Wenger’s plans next year.
Isaac Hayden
Were it not for a poorly-timed injury, Isaac Hayden could already be featuring regularly for Arsenal given their problems at the back. As it is, the 19-year-old defender will have to wait to add to his two previous appearances for Wenger’s side.
One suspects next year will be when the centre-back really breaks through at the Emirates Stadium.
