Queens Park Rangers duo Rio Ferdinand and Charlie Austin sing the praises of Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck for scoring twice for England against Slovenia in a Euro 2016 qualifier at London’s Wembley Stadium today.
Danny Welbeck may have been struggling for goals for Arsenal in recent weeks, but on Saturday he was on fire for England.
The 23-year-old former Manchester United striker twice for the Three Lions to help them to a 3-1 comeback victory over Slovenia in the Euro 2016 Group E qualifier at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Welbeck scored England’s second goal midway through the second half when he shot home from inside the box with his left foot.
Then six minutes later the Englishman was at it again, this time collecting a brilliant ball from Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling to find the target with a superb finish from close range.
Welbeck has not been in the best of form for Arsenal in recent weeks, but his brace against Slovenia is certainly going to enhance his confidence.
Queens Park Rangers duo Charlie Austin and Rio Ferdinand were watching the game, and this is what they made of Welbeck’s goals.
Can't see Roy putting Welbeck out on the wing again anytime soon!! #Flourishing— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) November 15, 2014
