How Remy Cabella's start at Newcastle United compares to Yohan Cabaye's.

Summer signing from Montpellier, Remy Cabella, has not had the immediate impact at Newcastle United he might have hoped for.

With the side struggling for form initially, the attacking midfielder has himself found it slow to adapt to life in the Premier League.

There is however hope for fans, when considering the equally slow start made by former fan favourite, Yohan Cabaye when he was signed in 2011/12.

We have compared the starts of the two players over the first 11 matches of the respective seasons, and it's even credible to claim Cabella comes out on top...

Having played only two thirds of the minutes Cabaye did during his start to the season, Cabella comes out the equal or superior in several attacking categories.

While the current PSG man netted once, they both have one assist, and created the same number of chances (20), again note the fact Cabella has had less playing time.

Cabella's passing accuracy is better at 87% compared to 79%, and this is despite making a substantially higher number of passes in the attacking third of the pitch, an area where there is more room for error.

The real judge of Cabella's time will come through what he does next in a Newcastle shirt, considering the high standards Cabaye went onto set.

The fact his fellow Frenchman was able to do so after a similar start, gives reason for encouragement for summer addition Cabella.
