Manchester United made a lot of signings last summer, but as the likes of Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Ander Herrera joined the club, it would have been easy to miss the arrival of a 16-year-old Dutch defender.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah signed for United from Ajax back in September but he had to wait more than two months to make his first appearance for the club having finally received international clearance.
That debut came this weekend, with the teenager starting United's under-18 match against Everton. It did not go according to plan for Fosu-Mensah, with his side losing 2-0 to an impressive Toffees team, but at least he finally got some action under his belt and he will be looking forward to more in the near future.
Above we have posted a picture of the defender's first appearance in a United shirt, with credit to Twitter account The MUFC Academy who posted the snap on their official account on Saturday.
The player arrived at United with a great reputation and very big things are expected of him in time, but for now he must settle into his new club and slowly play his way into the form that earned him the captaincy of Holland's under-17 side.
