Leeds United attacker Noel Hunt was active on social networking site Twitter during the Republic of Ireland’s defeat to Scotland in the Euro 2016 qualifier on Friday.

Leeds United attacker Noel Hunt may not be playing much football at the moment, but he is still watching matches.

On Friday, the 31-year-old was following the Euro 2016 Group D qualifier between Scotland and the Republic of Ireland at Celtic Park in Glasgow.

Hunt has played three times for Ireland and understandably was gunning for the Green Army, but despite his backing, they lost.

In what turned out to be a fiercely competitive match, Shaun Maloney’s goal in the 74th minute proved to be the difference between the two teams.

The result means that Ireland are now fourth in Group D with seven points from four matches, while Scotland are level on points but a place ahead.

Here is what Hunt made of the match between Scotland and Ireland.

What ever happens (Ireland win) I hope everyone in ParkHead have an amazing night it's a great moment for Ireland and Scotland!
