Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli has been speaking about former Spurs player Gareth Bale.
The Belgian international arrived at White Hart Lane the same summer the Welshman headed to Real Madrid, and after a season to settle, Chadli’s recent form suggests he could go some way to replacing Bale.
In comments published by the Daily Star, Chadli – who has scored six goals so far this season – said, “I feel like the ghost of Bale is still very present at Tottenham.
“That’s not strange when you look at how much he meant to the club and the fans.”
Chadli went on to admit that he was stronger, both physically and mentally, than last season, and that has been seen in his performances for Tottenham.
Replacing Bale was never going to be easy, and there is no doubt the Welshman is a cut above those currently plying their trade in North London. But Chadli is at least going the right way about it, putting in the performances, scoring the goals and ensuring he is being talked about for the right reasons.
