England Under 21s beat Portugal 3-1 in a friendly at Turf Moor this week, leaving many of the those involved with manager Gareth Southgate's side delighted, not least Chelsea duo Nathaniel Chalobah and Patrick Bamford.
The two young Chelsea players are currently away from Stamford Bridge in an attempt to get as much game time as possible under their belt, with each having taken in impressive loan spells in the past.
Chalobah is on loan at Burnley, where he has just 4 short appearances for the Premier League strugglers, but at just 19-years-old he still has plenty of time to make his mark. The midfielder was particularly happy for Clarets ace Danny Ings, who scored a brace at his and Chalobah's home ground.
Striker Bamford is at Middlesbrough, where friend of Blues boss Jose Mourinho Aitor Karanka is in charge, and the 21-year-old has netted 4 times in 12 games.
Great win v Portugal tonight! Buzzing to pull on the england shirt again and the run continues! #EnglandU21s— Patrick Bamford (@Patrick_Bamford) November 13, 2014
The Under 21s' win was all the more impressive given that it was their 11th in a row, while both Chalobah and Bamford will have been delighted to feature against a side that Southgate's men are due to face next summer in the European Championships.
