The £197 million of players linked with signing for Chelsea this week: Bale, Reus and more

Everything is looking extremely rosy for Chelsea right now; top of the league, well placed in the Champions League and having just announced a healthy profit in their latest set of financial figures.

The Blues have one of the best squads in Europe and continue to be linked with the best players in the transfer market. Here are five of the best.

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

Where or how this Gareth Bale rumour started is unclear but Chelsea are one of the few sides in the world that could probably pull off a deal for the Welshman. It’s extremely unlikely to happen but would be a world class signing if they grab him in the future.

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Spanish newspaper Marca claimed yesterday that Chelsea were the only side that could rival Real Madrid in the race to sign the German midfielder. The Blues have consistently been linked with Reus throughout the season.

Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti hinted earlier this week that the club would be open to selling Khedira this January. The Blues are one of the sides thought to have an interested with a fee of £20 million doing the rounds in the press.

Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao)

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has invested in several youngsters since he returned to the club for a second spell and the £32 million rated Aymeric Laporte is another reported target. He’d certainly put the likes of Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma under pressure for their places in the side.

Anderson Talisca (Benfica)

The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the most exciting forwards currently playing Portuguese football and the Blues are a side reportedly interested in offering him a route into the Premier League. He has a reported £35 million buyout clause.
