Leeds United full-back Sam Byram is full of praise for manager Neil Redfearn.

Leeds United defender Sam Byram has been singing the praises of manager Neil Redfearn.

Redfearn was officially confirmed as the West Yorkshire outfit’s full-time manager earlier this month and has overseen a loss, a draw and a win in his three Championship games in charge.

Despite this modest record, everyone related to Leeds has high hopes of the Englishman. The 49-year-old has been part of the club since 2009 and has worked with many of the first-team players for years.

Former Crystal Palace midfielder Redfearn is the perfect man to get the best out of the truly talented youngsters in the Leeds team, one of them being Byram.

The 21-year-old full-back has returned to form in recent weeks which he credits to working with Redfearn.

‘Neil has been great’, The Yorkshire Evening Post quotes Byram as saying. ‘He gives us confidence and we played under him before and you know what get from him and I think you can see in our performances under him that we play with confidence.

‘He has been a breath of fresh air for me and given me real confidence to go out and play. He is positive and everything is positive and everyone is really enjoying it and it’s a different place at the minute and it’s going well’.

Byram’s sentiments will be echoed by many of the Leeds players: Redfearn knows them inside out. Having been involved with the Whites for years, the 49-year-old knows what is expected of this truly big and historic club.

Of course, there is no guarantee that Redfearn will succeed in his quest to guide Leeds back to the Premier League, but he is the man best suited for the job.

Leeds have abundance of young and promising talent, and Redfearn is the right man to get the best out of those players.
