Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has suffered an injury scare, in more bad luck for the Red Devils.
The 24-year-old dislocated a finger while on international duty with Spain, but will remain with the squad.
Even so, Manchester United's doctors and manager Louis van Gaal will be waiting nervously upon further news, anxious the club's star goalkeeper will not miss any club action with a crucial game away to Arsenal on November 22.
Regardless of whether De Gea makes it or not, the injury should focus the Red Devils upon the free agent signing of Victor Valdes.
The former Barcelona star is a free agent after being injured before his contract expired, and has been training with Manchester United, also putting the club in pole position for his signature.
While Valdes would not feature likely until January due to squad registration issues and his fitness, the eventuality of seeing De Gea down inured with a minor role should prepare the club for if a worse eventuality occurs, and with respect to stand-in Anders Lindegaard, Victor Valdes is a clear upgrade.
