This summer Manchester United snapped up a world class signing in the form of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid. Of course they were not the only ones after the talented Argentine.
The £59.7 million signature was wanted by Paris Saint-Germain however the French side were not allowed to sign the player because they would have infringed on the Financial Fair Play regulations.
In September the PSG president stated that Di Maria wanted a PSG move over his deal to join Manchester United.
The words from Di Maria yesterday will not have helped convince Manchester United fans otherwise.
Speaking to the press ahead of Argentina's friendly against Portugal at Old Trafford, Di Maria said this about his failed move to PSG:
"I have no regrets about leaving the Real Madrid.
"Paris, it would have been a great experience…It would please a lot of players to play at a French club."
Of course, in reality, Manchester United fans won't particularly care.
Di Maria was simply being polite in an interview. This was not exactly a putting down of United. He clearly seems happy at Old Trafford and is definitely playing that way during his first few months with the club.
Sure he would have liked to go to PSG. Imagine he probably would have liked to stay at Real Madrid. But he is a Manchester United player now and as long as he plays well, nobody will really care about his most recent statements.
