A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.
Colombian forward Teofilo Gutierrez has opened himself up to a move to the Premier League from River Plate according to the London Evening Standard, with Tottenham said to be interested in the forward.
The Standard has picked up on a quote, saying: “It is nice that important teams are interested. I hope it can become true.”
The same report also mentions the possibility of Espanyol defender Hector Moreno potentially arriving at White Hart Lane, a rumour which has been circulating during this international break, with the defender still thankful for the role Mauricio Pochettino has had on his career so far.
Lloris has said he does not regret staying at White Hart Lane and signing a new contract, despite reported interest from clubs in the Champions League.
He said: “When it’s the third coach in the space of one year and there are problems, the coach is not necessarily the problem,” said the goalkeeper, who has been Spurs’ best player by some distance this season.
“We’ve been working, though, trying to find solutions. I’ve known times like this at Lyon but, there, there was a real pressure every day and there was crisis management."
Finally, former manager Harry Redknapp has waded into the row about directors of football, with Spurs seemingly struggling with Franco Baldini in place at the club, and Redknapp says such a role undermines the position of the manager.
He said: "It’s a joke really that you are expected to work with someone else’s players. It’s all very well someone recommending players to you but when they don’t work out, it’s your head on the block."
