Manchester United winger Angel di Maria has been explaining the differences between La Liga and the Premier League.
The Argentina international played for Spanish giants Real Madrid for four years between 2010 and 2014, before making a record £59.7 million move to the Red Devils in the summer transfer window.
Di Maria, who can also play in attacking midfield, is one of the best players in the world and, having destroyed defences in La Liga, he is now taking on defenders in the Premier League.
Football in England is different from that in Spain, and Di Maria has underlined the differences.
‘Yes, they are different because here football is a lot more competitive’, he told Inside United when asked about the differences in training between United and Madrid.
‘You feel the physical aspects and the contact more, and as a result you need to be 100% fit all the time and ready for everything. I really like that’.
Many players struggles to adapt to the Premier League, but there has been no such problem for Di Maria, who has taken to English football like a duck to water.
In nine Premier League appearances, Di Maria has scored three goals and created 28 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 53%.
