Teofilo Gutierrez has made it clear that he is happy to remain at River Plate.
It has been reported in recent weeks that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the signature of Colombian striker Teo Gutierrez. The 29-year-old is reportedly available for a cut-price fee of around £6 million.
The striker reportedly said he would happily make a move to a Premier League team in the winter - ahead of his game against the USA at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
He reportedly stated, when quizzed on a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur:
“It’s very nice that important teams are interested in my services, I hope it can become true.
“It’s a beautiful style of football in England and I think any player would love to play here.”
But the River Plate striker has now used Twitter to downplay the rumours. Clearly referring to the Tottenham rumours he stated:
Roughly translated that reads:
Disfrutando del gran momento de mi selección y de River plate, agradecería q no me adjudiquen rumores de discusiones q no son ciertas.— Teo Gutierrez (@TeoG29) November 14, 2014
"Enjoying the great moment of my selection and River plate, I am awarded and appreciated, discussing the rumours are not true."
So it seems that Tottenham Hotspur will have to have a look at other options to improve their striking options.
