New Manchester United signing Daley Blind says he prefers playing in midfield.
The Dutchman has had to play in defence of late, and maintains he is happy to do so, but believes he can offer the team more in his favourite role.
He told ManUtd.com: "I think midfield is a good position for me and it's also where I can help the team the most.
"Maybe my qualities are better for that position but, if the trainer needs me for the left full-back position, then I will play there. It is no problem for me."
Blind played at left wing-back for Holland during the World Cup under Louis van Gaal, who appreciates his versatility, but with Luke Shaw at United, there is more of a role for him in midfield.
He has played excellently in the role so far, making more tackles per game and winning more interceptions each match than nay United midfielder, and without him there, the team lacks a real balance.
