Liverpool owned Divock Origi produced a solid strike for Belgium last night in their win against Iceland.
The young Belgian forward found a small pocked of space just outside Iceland’s penalty area to slam the ball home to help his side in a 3-1 friendly win against Iceland ahead of the next round of Euro 2016 qualifying games this weekend.
Origi, signed and loaned back to Lille, continues to develop away from Anfield after the Reds made a £10 million investment to make sure none of their rivals were able to snap him up ahead of them.
There has been speculation that he could return to Liverpool from Lille early due to the inconsistency of the strikers on show at Liverpool, but it seems more likely that he’ll see out the rest of the season with the French team.
If he can replicate these sorts of skills when he’s playing in the Premier League, Brendan Rodgers will be a very happy man.
