United morning news: Star’s brother reveals frustration; Strootman latest

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Reported Manchester United target Kevin Strootman is generating plenty of headlines following his long-awaited return to competitive action. But there is bad news for those United fans eager to see the Dutchman at Old Trafford.

The player’s agent Fabio Parisi has been speaking to Italian website Calcio Mercato about the rumours of an impending move, seemingly dismissing them.

“The future at Manchester United? Forget the rumours,” he said.

Perisi went on to confirm that the player must focus solely on his recovery and nothing else at this time.

In other news, former United player Corry Evans has been talking about his brother Jonny’s frustration at missing so much of the season through injury.

In an interview with the Belfast Telegraph, the Blackburn Rovers player said, “Jonny is obviously really frustrated he hasn’t been able to play so far in this campaign. He is desperate to get back because playing for Northern Ireland means the world to him.”

The United defender has made just four appearances for Louis van Gaal’s side so far this season and he has also missed out on his country’s outstanding start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
