Report: Two clubs to fight for Reus, Chelsea are one of them

Marco Reus

Chelsea and Real Madrid will reportedly battle for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.

Spanish website and newspaper Marca claims Chelsea are one of two sides with a chance to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund.

The pro-Madrid news source suggests that the Blues are the only side that will compete against Real Madrid to sign the German when he’s expected to leave BVB at some point next year.

Reus has been linked with various moves to the Premier League with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all thought to be interested in him.

There has also been reported interest from the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich tipped in reports to sign the midfielder, as they continue to poach the best players from one of their main rivals after deals for Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski.

Dortmund’s inconsistent and negative start to the season has seen Reus, and some of his teammates, linked with an exit as they seemingly look to bypass the possibility of an ongoing struggle at BVB.

Reus is thought to have a buyout clause in his contract worth close to the £20 million mark and there is an argument to suggest that Chelsea and Real Madrid would both be good moves for him.

However, whether it really is a straight fight between those two sides remains to be seen, with the other clubs mentioned more than capable of making big offers for the player.
