Three Tottenham stars caught up for dinner in midweek, when really they would have rather been elsewhere.
Tottenham might have thought they were signing three internationals in Benjamin Stambouli, Etienne Capoue and Roberto Soldado.
Yet it says everything about their current experiences at the club that they are sitting in London on international week, dining together instead of training with France and Spain.
Roberto Soldado has 12 international caps for Spain, and a decent record to go with it, scoring seven goals. Yet since his move to Tottenham, he has fallen off the map when it comes to the La Roja set up.
Etienne Capoue is himself a French international, with seven caps, yet like Soldado he found himself omitted from his country's World Cup squad, and once again missed out over this round of international fixtures.
Teammate Benjamin Stambouli is a former French under-21 international, and will have seen his move from Montpellier to Tottenham as a chance to raise his profile and earn a senior cap, yet after making only one substitute Premier League appearance to date, a call-up looks less likely than when he was in Ligue 1.
In each case, their absence this time around was no surprise, which says a lot in itself about each player's experience at the club to date.
With Soldado rumoured to be up for sale in January, this could be the last international break the trio get together in, but if he remains, there's a fair chance than in 2015 the same scene repeats itself.
