Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick’s injury woes continue.
The 33-year-old missed the opening weeks of the 2014-15 season with an ankle problem and returned to competitive action for United only last month.
Despite making just two Premier League appearances for the Red Devils, Carrick was called up to the England national team for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia on Saturday and the friendly international against Scotland three days later.
However, the former Tottenham Hotspur star has been forced to pull out of the Three Lions’ squad due to a ‘minor groin injury’ which he sustained in training on Wednesday.
Carrick, though, is expected to regain full fitness for United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal after the two-week international break.
Following the injury news, United fans took to social networking site Twitter to have their say on Carrick. Below are the best reactions.
