Manchester City morning news: Length of Kompany absence confirmed, Negredo return unlikely

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.

Belgium boss Marc Wilmots has revealed Vincent Kompany will be out of action for the next 10-12 days.

Kompany is thought to have carried an injury problem into the international break after his performances for Manchester City.

“I received a call from Vincent earlier. He is out for Manchester City for 10 to 12 days, so is unavailable for Sunday. It's a shame but there is no problem, there are only solutions,” he told RTBF.

The Manchester Evening News has suggested that Valencia won’t allow Alvaro Negredo to return to Manchester City.

The forward is currently on loan at the La Liga club with Los Che thought to be keen on a permanent deal.

Yaya Toure has questioned Morocco’s refusal to hold the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

Morocco are refusing to be the tournament’s hosts over fears about the current Ebola crisis.

“Morocco’s decision is difficult to understand knowing that they are hosting the FIFA Club World Cup next month,” said Toure.
