Sami Khedira has made it clear he will not be leaving Real Madrid in January.
It is no secret that Arsenal reportedly want Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira. The German World Cup winner starred in Brazil this summer, putting his injury troubles behind him to put in an excellent display.
His contract at Real Madrid expires next summer which has seen many people link him with moves across the continent, including Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger himself is known to be growing tired of being asked questions on the matter of Khedira in interviews over the past few months while Carlo Ancelotti maintains that for now Khedira stays.
However that does not exclude the facts. Khedira is available to talk to any foreign team from January over a free transfer in the upcoming summer. With no new deal at Real currently in sight, he looks set for the exit.
One person who has, more or less, stayed mum on this subject has been Khedira himself.
The German international has however now broken that recent silence - painting a bleak picture for Arsenal, and Manchester United, fans that want him at their respective clubs.
He told German magazine Kicker:
"Right now, I cannot see any reason why I would leave the club this winter.
"Real Madrid is a great club to be at. This club has a place in my heart and there is absolutely no reason for me to say that I want to or have to leave.
"I get the feeling I am still wanted."
Of course the future for Khedira remains cloudy. While he maintains he is going nowhere in January that does not mean an exit is unlikely in the summer. Until Real Madrid tie him down to a new contract rumours of Arsenal interest will definitely persist.
