Leeds United fan takes Middlesbrough's Twitter feed to task over away ticket claim

Leeds United will take the Championship's largest away following to Blackburn next weekend, putting Middlesbrough's own claim to doing so in the shade.

Middlesbrough's claim to have put together the largest away following for a single Championship game this season was quickly blown out of the water yesterday.

The club posted a message on their official Twitter feed, boasting of selling out their 4,800 tickets for the upcoming game away to Wigan Athletic.

They were quickly forced into issuing a correction, after a Leeds United fan pointed out the Yorkshire side have in fact gone over that, by quite a distance.

Later in the day, the official Leeds United Twitter account took it upon themselves to talk up their travelling fans.

According to website the72.co.uk, Leeds United have the second highest away attendance on average in the Championship so far this season, behind Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Middlesbrough rank seventh, with Bournemouth the lowest.
