A number of Everton players have left a big impression on Orlando City head coach Adrian Heath during his regular trips to Goodison Park.

Everton legend Adrian Heath is currently preparing for his first MLS season at the helm of expansion side Orlando City SC and, before kick-off in March 2015, the head coach has been getting some pointers at Goodison Park.

Heath has travelled across the Atlantic on several occasions in the past to pick the brains of Toffees manager Roberto Martinez, and has been more than impressed with what the Spaniard has accomplished at the club since his appointment in June 2013.

“He’s an encyclopaedia of football knowledge. I was asking him about the Premier League, have we got any kids to look out for, so it’s always nice to come here,” he told the club’s official website.

“Certain coaches you go and see are very insular and don’t really share very much, but Roberto is the complete opposite.

“One of the great things he has done is that he has embraced the history of the Club. He hasn’t been afraid of what has happened in the past and he has been a breath of fresh air for Everton.”

Having been on Merseyside just last month, Heath revealed that a number of Everton players have impressed him over the past season, and insists Martinez has a squad capable of rivaling the best in the Premier League.

Tim Howard has been great, James McCarthy has been fantastic of late and Gareth Barry has been an inspired signing,” he said.

“I was at the away game at Burnley and I thought he was outstanding. Leighton Baines has been unbelievable and Seamus Coleman has continually progressed and got better.

“The one thing that is apparent is that the players enjoy playing football here and enjoy the training, which I saw for myself. They enjoy the system that they play in and under the manager. All that shows through.”

Heath will have some star performers at his own disposal for Orlando’s inaugural MLS season, having pulled off a major coup this past summer with the signing of Brazil international Kaka, and with a few more big-name additions expected over the coming months.
