Arsenal morning news: £18m for Krychowiak; Marchisio linked

Sevilla Football Club

All the latest Arsenal news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.

An update now on the move for Grzegorz Krychowiak of Sevilla as Spanish reports claim Arsenal are readying a bid for the player.

The Polish international only joined Sevilla this summer in a £3.1 million deal from Stade Reims but has impressed at the start of this La Liga campaign.

He currently has a release clause in his contract of around £23.5 million but Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Arsenal will not be willing to meet that fee. Instead they will bid around £18 million for the player in the hope Sevilla cash in on his services.

However the Spanish club are notoriously tough negotiators and are not expected to settle for anything less than his release fee, which Arsenal may have to meet in order to get their man.

Arsenal are being linked with Italian midfielder Claudio Marchisio in Italy this morning. The Azzurri international is reportedly being lined up by The Gunners for a potential winter swoop in an attempt to further shore up their midfield.

The Juventus midfielder, who is a long-term target of Manchester United, is however believed to have now opened contract talks with Juventus in a bid to secure his long-term future to the club.

Given his love of Turin it is unlikely Arsenal will be able to convince him of a switch to North London in the coming future.
