Arsenal latest: Abou Diaby injury confusion and Jogi Low on Lukas Podolski

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this evening.

It has been reported today French midfielder Abou Diaby, who has struggled with serious injury problems throughout most of his career, has seen his latest comeback attempt put back after suffering a hamstring tear.

Reports earlier today indicated that Diaby was set to miss up to three months with his latest injury woe.

However that is now being doubted.

It is reported in the London Evening standard that there has been no fresh injury setback for Diaby, despite the reports.

They claim Diaby has suffered no such setback and is continuing his rehabilitation toward getting back in action for the club in the near future.

The earlier reports sparked fresh rumours of an early retirement from the game but it would appear Diaby is here to stay for now.

Arsenal are seeing fresh links between themselves and Barcelona's young Cameroonian goalkeeper Andrey Onana today.

The talented 21-year-old is way down the pecking order at the Nou Camp and his contract situation is being monitored by Arsenal.

They do however have competition. He is also wanted by the likes of Ajax, PSG and Monaco.

German national team coach Jogi Low has told Lukas Podolski to think about his position at Arsenal. It comes in a week in which the forward again made it clear he could consider an exit should first-team opportunities continue to remain sparse at The Emirates.

Low confirmed Podolski would start against Gibraltar in an upcoming qualifier, before continuing to say:

"It's in my plans that Podolski will play from the start. I'm aware he doesn't play a lot right now for Arsenal. He needs to play competitive games. Sometimes he lacks the physical condition to play the full 90 minutes.

"He has to think about his situation. I'm still convinced about his abilities, but he needs high intensity."
