Tottenham Hotspur may have a problem in the form of Juventus if reports of their interest in Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri were accurate.
Italian newspaper TuttoSport claims Serie A giants Juventus are ready to go after the Swiss winger and are willing to let former Liverpool target Sebastian Giovinco go to create room.
Tottenham’s interest in Shaqiri is fascinating because he represents the sort of top class player who could have a direct and beneficial influence out wide for Mauricio Pochettino’s current side.
Unlike Juventus, they don’t have to let anyone go to accommodate him, with another wide player a likely and sensible winter addition for Tottenham to target.
However, if Spurs don’t follow Juventus’ lead in terms of selling before they buy, that places strain on chairman Daniel Levy to commission a bid big enough to get the Swiss player committed to a White Hart Lane move before another team makes a potentially bigger offer.
