When West Bromwich Albion signed Brown Ideye for a club-record transfer fee, manager Alan Irvine would have hoped he was getting a ready-made goal-scorer to help fire his side up the table.
But as yet, the Nigeria international who had scored 74 league goals prior to his summer move has struggled to find his form, scoring just one goal in seven appearances and not featuring at all in recent weeks.
However he was back on Wednesday, playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly match against Leicester City along with fellow summer arrival Silvestre Varela. And it was Ideye and the Porto loanee he scored the goals in a 2-0 win, prompting the former to send a post-match photo to his Twitter followers along with a celebratory message.
'So happy to have 90 minutes under my belt today,' he wrote, and West Brom fans will be hoping it is a sign of things to come...for both players.
