FIFA has announced the nominees for the 2014 Puskas Award. Named after the legendary Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskas the award commemorates the best goal of the year in world football. This year there were plenty of top quality nominees, including a couple of Premier League players.
The United striker of course scored that fantastic header for The Netherlands against Costa's Spain in the World Cup opener in Brazil.
Chelsea meanwhile signed Diego Costa for £32 million this summer from Atletico Madrid. He actually scored his goal during his time at Los Colchoneros, scoring a blinding goal against Getafe in November 2013.
The whole list of nominees is listed below including a wonder-goal from Patijm Kasami for Fulham, before he joined Olympiakos. Former Everton attacker Tim Cahill also received a nomination after hitting in that cracking volley for Australia against The Netherlands in Brazil.
