Chelsea's five best moments so far this season

José Mourinho Celebrates

Chelsea have enjoyed a fantastic season on all fronts so far.

Chelsea have enjoyed a fantastic season so far with the current international break providing Jose Mourinho with a chance to step back and review the situation ahead of a busy Christmas and New Year schedule.

Here are some of Chelsea’s best moments of the season so far.

Burnley Away

Chelsea’s opening 3-1 win against Burnley away from Stamford Bridge was significant for a number of reasons. It was the last fixture of the first round of games so the Blues had been forced to watch some of their rivals get off to winning starts and it was the first chance for Mourinho, to judge whether he’d made the right decisions in the transfer market.

Everton Away

Any match where Chelsea concede three goals is going to be difficult for them to win. However, the Blues should great attacking determination in this game and eventually strolled to a 6-3 victory thanks largely to the heroics of summer signing Diego Costa who maintained his positive start at the club.

The Champions League

The champions League has created a number of positive moments for Chelsea this season with the best being the 6-0 win against NK Maribor. That left their coach purring over Chelsea’s attack and backing the Blues to win the European competition for the second time after their 2012 triumph against Bayern Munich.

Drogba’s Goal

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba scored a bullet header in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. It put Chelsea ahead in the game and was his first goal in his second spell at the club, which he backed up with another goal in the following League Cup win against Shrewsbury just two days later.

Matic at Liverpool

Mourinho was left purring over Nemanja Matic after his performance against Liverpool. He described the Serbian as the best player at the club as he blocked the Liverpool attack into submission for the second season in a row at Anfield.
