Chelsea morning news: Blues make Reus a priority, Mata on Eden Hazard

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

The Metro claims Chelsea have made signing Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund their top priority.

The German midfield is being heavily tipped to leave BVB at some point next year with Chelsea one of the sides thought to be interested in him.

Current Chelsea star Andre Schurrle has been tipped to head in the opposite direction.

Former Chelsea star Juan Mata says he had a good relationship with current Blues attacker Eden Hazard.

The pair enjoyed a close friendship before Mata’s high profile move to Manchester United.

“We had a very good relationship. He is a world class player. He is excelling this campaign but since he arrived in London I already saw that he was a very special player,” Mata told Cadena Cope.

Gary Cahill is backing England captain Wayne Rooney to break records at international level.

Rooney will win his 100th cap if he plays against Slovenia this weekend and has publicly been backed by the Chelsea defender.

“I personally think he can break both (scoring and appearances), if he keeps in the right frame of mind which he is and he trains hard, he looks after himself,” said Cahill.
