All the latest news and views from Celtic Park, including Craig Gordon’s comments on his future…

Craig Gordon on Premier League return

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has admitted that he is open to returning to the Premier League in the future.

The 31-year-old has been on the books of the Scottish giants since the summer transfer window after two years out of the game with serious injury problems.

‘That’s open-ended, that’s a possibility’, The Scotsman quotes the Scotland international as saying. ‘But I’ve only just started back again so there is plenty of time for that.

‘I am still only 31 and I’m not setting myself any boundaries. I’m going to try and do the best I can, wherever that takes me.

'You never put a ceiling on things because you never know what can happen. You have to be ambitious – and I certainly am – to do the best you can.

‘Whether that’s here or regardless of where it is, I want to be the best and play the best and play in the best competitions and play for my national team. So that’s the goals I set myself. But there is no top level to that’.

Graeme Souness on Scott Brown

Another Celtic player who has been linked with a move to the Premier League is Scott Brown.

The 29-year-old Scotland international is one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Premiership and has played in Scotland his entire career.

Former Liverpool and Rangers midfielder Graeme Souness believes that Brown would be a good addition to the English top flight.

‘I think he is a very busy, aggressive midfield player’, The Evening Times quotes Souness as saying.

‘You need someone like that who has a never-say-die attitude, gets in about people, who makes people rush passes and makes people make passes they don't want to make.

‘You definitely have to have a player like that in your team. I'm sure Scott could play for certain teams down there’.
