House Forrester details have been revealed in a new Telltale Games blog update.
The Game of Thrones episodic game series, created by Telltale Games, has opened up and revealed new details about the title over on the developer's blog today. Details include the house the game's story will revolve around, along with the locations and which systems fans can play on.
The game is based on House Forrester during the events of The War of the Five Kings. House Forrester is 'placed in a precarious position where members of the household must do everything they can to prevent the house from meeting its doom,' the blog reads.
The game will take from HBO's Game of Thrones TV series, based on George R. R. Marin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire' books. The blog confirms that the events which take place in the game will be towards the end of season three on the TV show, going through season four just before the start of season five.
Locations in Telltale's game will include King's Landing, The Wall, and the unfamiliar location of House Forrester's home in Ironrath.
Here's some background info on House Forrester as per the blog update:
"House Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros. Bannermen to House Glover, they have always offered unswerving loyalty to the ruling great house of the North – the Starks. The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees. Built over fifteen hundred years ago by Cedric Forrester and his triplet sons, Ironrath is a testament to the strength and endurance of Ironwood. The Forrester house words are 'Iron from Ice', which echoes their belief that - like the ironwood itself - the adverse conditions and unforgiving landscape of the North only makes them stronger."
The game will be played from five different points of view, with each being a member of House Forrester. Each member of the house is either a direct family member or is in service to the house.
Like in other Telltale episodic games, your choices will affect the rest of the world you're in. Keeping in mind you'll be playing as five characters, the blog states: "Multiply the actions of one character by five, and you're truly playing the Game of Thrones…where you win, or you die."
The first of six episodes ('Iron From Ice') is due to arrive 'soon', says Telltale. Game of Thrones will be available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and iOS. Other platforms will be announced at a later date.
On a side note here, I've played Telltale's The Walking Dead, Season One, and a bit of Season Two. And both of them are brilliant, so there's high hopes for their take of the Game of Thrones universe, from me at the very least.
