Jonathan Walters has been reflecting on Stoke City’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur away from home in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Potters were the deserved winners of the clash at the White Hart Lane, thanks to first-half goals from Bojan Krkic and Walters.
Tottenham were the favourites heading into the match as they have a better squad on paper, but the North London outfit’s poor form continued.
Walter has now revelled in Stoke’s win against Spurs and told the club’s official website: ‘We learnt our lesson against West Ham – that's a game we should have won and we weren't going to let a two-goal lead slip again.
‘Everyone to a man, even those who came off the bench, knew their job and what was expected of them and I think we executed our game plan perfectly.
‘They are the sort of games you enjoy; where you grind out a result and see the job through but it was even more pleasing considering what had happened the weekend before against West Ham.
‘We were happy with the way we played against Spurs. I thought we were excellent and we could have scored more than two goals’.
Stoke are currently ninth in the Premier League table with 15 points from 11 matches, while Spurs are a point behind them in 12th.
