Former Tottenham midfielder Darren Anderton hs urged his old side to sign three new players in January, in an interview with the Daily Express.

He suggested the club need at least a new striker, centre back and a new midfelder, saying:

"They need a striker. There is no doubt about that especially with Defoe going. They need four strikers.

"They need centre backs as they are very shaky and shallow in depth. They also need a midfielder.

"I like Christian Eriksen and we need someone like him."

Hector Moreno is one playe who has been linked with a move to Totteham with the Daily Mail reporting the 26-year-old Espanyol defender is Mauricio Pochettino's main target in January to strengthn his back line.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has told the Tottenham website that the side appears to have lost confidence at home after their 2-1 defeat to Stoke City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

He said: "Maybe we have lost some confidence at home. It’s strange though. At the beginning of the Newcastle game we were very good. Now against Stoke, the first five minutes were good but after they scored the first goal, we lost our mind in the game and Stoke took their opportunities.

“All the players want better results. We work hard every week but most important is the game and we need to show more. At the moment, it isn’t enough.”
