Chelsea morning news: Del Bosque defends Fabregas decision, Bertrand confused over snub

Cesc Fabregas Spain

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Vicente Del Bosque has reiterated he trusts Jose Mourinho’s word at Chelsea.

Spain failed to replace the injured Cesc Fabregas for the current round of international games because they wanted him to see their medics.

“We haven’t replaced Fabregas because we wanted him to see our medics. That’s not a lack of confidence in the player and the medics at Chelsea,” said Del Bosque.

On loan Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand is hoping for a recall to the England side after missing out on the latest squad call ups.

The left-back has been a key component of the Southampton side which has impressed in the Premier League this season.

“Yeah, [I'm] very [disappointed]. I've started very well this season, we're second in the league, so I don't know what the criteria is to get in there at the minute,” he told the Daily Mail.

Oscar has signed a new long term contract at the club.

The Brazilian has been one of Jose Mourinho’s regular players throughout this season.

The deal keeps him at the club until at least 2019.
