Barcelona midfielder Xavi believes that both Raheem Sterling and Ross Barkley are good enough to play for the Spanish club.
While Liverpool winger Sterling is widely considered as one of the best players in the Premier League, Everton youngster Barkley is fast maturing into a brilliant midfielder.
Both the English youngsters enjoyed a breakthrough 2013-14 season, and both are said to have bright futures ahead of them.
Former Spain international Xavi, who is a footballing legend, believes that both Sterling and Barkley are capable of playing for Barcelona.
‘Yes, why not? I think that they could’, Xavi told Squawka.com when asked if the duo are good enough to make the grade at Camp Nou.
‘They have incredible physical capabilities and they are good technically. In Spain, we prioritise players who are technically gifted but both things are very important in football’.
Both Sterling and Barkley are tremendously talented players and are full England internationals, but they need to be protected against undue pressure and expectations.
Neither Sterling nor Barkley are world class or fully developed yet (from a footballing perspective), but if given the time and afforded the patience, then they would well turn out to be superstars of England in the future.
