Sunderland and Everton played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Black Cats took the lead midway through the second half through Sebastian Larsson, who curled in a free kick after Leighton Baines had committed a foul on Will Buckley.

However, Everton restored parity on 76 minutes when Baines found the target from the penalty spot after Connor Wickham brought down Seamus Coleman inside the box.

Everton, though, ended the match with injury problems as Gareth Barry had to be substituted and then taken to hospital following a tackle by Jordi Gomez.

The result leaves Sunderland 14th in the Premier League table with 12 points from 11 matches, while Everton are 10th in the standings with 14 points.
