Here are some of the best Tweets as David Moyes moves on with his career.
Last spring Manchester United were dealt the blow that Sir Alex Ferguson, their long-serving manager and club legend, would be stepping down at the club - to finally enjoy some retirement from the game.
Filling the shoes of a man who won everything during his long association with Manchester United was always going to be very tricky.
The opportunity was given to David Moyes.
Moyes was the personal choice of Ferguson and for many years he was considered the natural successor on the throne.
But it was not the dream move Moyes hoped it would be. His time at United was a massive struggle. In the end he led them to a seventh placed finish and no silverware.
In April the decision was made that ultimately Moyes was not cut out for the United job and he was relieved of his duties.
Since leaving the club he has had offers to move on to other clubs and interviews with several teams - such as Galatasaray.
Now it looks like, after seven months out of the game, Moyes is about to get back on the horse. That horse is in Spain.
Moyes is set to try and guide Real Sociedad to safety in La Liga, after the Basque side agreed a €2 million a year contract with the Scotsman - and Gary McAllister is set to go with him as his assistant.
Moyes is not the first Brit to try his hand at the Anoeta. Chris Coleman was given the job in 2007 but lasted just six months before falling out with the management at the club and departing.
Sociedad have clearly not forgotten what a great job Moyes did at Everton and will hope he can lead them back into the Champions League, a competition in which they faced Moyes' United last season.
Here is how fans reacted to the news on Twitter ...
