Leeds United linked Josip Ilicic was booed off by his own fans at the weekend.
Fiorentina fans booed Josip Ilicic off the pitch at the weekend, casting a further shadow over his future at the club.
The attacking midfielder was last month linked with a loan move to Leeds United by reports in Italy, and is struggling to hold down a first team place.
He was withdrawn after 72 minutes in the 1-0 home defeat to Napoli to jeers from the home crowd and just a yellow card to show for his display.
After the game he told Sky Italia: "I do not know what I'm missing to find continuity. Montella (manager) has the right to make his choices. The team is more important than the individual."
His former general manager at Palermo, Giorgio Perenetti told TMW: "I think if the climate were to continue to be like this, then it could push the player to ask to be transferred."
There will be Italian clubs on alert for the attacker, and if a sale occurs, then Leeds can be ruled out of the running, with the player Fiorentina signed for £7 million too expensive.
The attacker would be able to provide invaluable competition in the Leeds squad, and relieve the pressure on Adryan, who is unlikely to be completing 90 minutes week in and week out, as shown by him being yet to go the distance so far this season.
The major question lies with whether Leeds' interest in Ilicic, or biggest chance, went out the window when fellow Slovenian, Darko Milanic, was sacked as head coach at the end of last month - yet owner Massimo Cellino's contacts in Italy keeps it as a possibility.
